Darcy and Caroline?

I'm REALLY enjoying this book -- more so than I thought I would. There are a few character relationships that are enlightening when seen from Darcy's point of view. Firstly, Darcy and Caroline? What are your thoughts? It's obvious in P&P to everyone, and I thought even Darcy, her affection for him, but it does not seem to be the case initially in MDD. At the beginning he seems to have a friendly relationship with her, and that encourages her 'ulterior motive'. This seems to change, though. At what point do you think his impression of her shifts? Any other thoughts/insights?

Secondly, Bingley and Darcy. I found it really interesting to experience Charles from Darcy's point of view. My impression in P&P was that Darcy was friends with Bingley, but held a bit of contempt -- anyone think differently? It's interesting to see the dynamics in this relationship -- he obviuosly cares a great deal for Charles, and it doesn't seem to me to be the slight bit condescending, but more so that he respected Charles' sweet nature, but has appointed himself to be the voice of reason not out of pride or pompousness, but because he honestly cares and believes it needs to be done.

Elizabeth? True to character? What are your thoughts so far?

Any other insights or topics to be discussed?
